Kids Corner
On Saturday 21 April and Sunday 22 April between noon and 7pm, the cultural division of the MAC's (Museum of Contemporary Art) in Grand-Hornu will be facilitating the Kids Corner at Art Brussels in conjunction with the exhibition ‘Le Grand Atelier’.
On the programme: a workshop dedicated to the Belgian artist Michel François:
Large posters (1m80 x 2m20) created by the artist from his photos, will be made available to children so that they can have a free hand at transforming them. With the help of thick acrylic felt pens, they will be invited to make up, transform, disguise, delete, and highlight details and shapes that appeal to them in the picture. This workshop, suggested initially by the artist himself, corresponds to the idea Michel François had of disseminating his work so that it could evolve freely.
Several sets of ‘seven families’ created by the cultural division of the MAC’s using works presented in the exhibition will be available on the stand.
Our guides/facilitators will be there to facilitate the games and help children discover the content of the exhibition designed specifically for children.
And finally, the pictures created during the Grand Atelier for the exhibition will be available on the stand. The children will be able to look at the beautiful pictures, but they will also be able to invent their own alphabet taking inspiration from the model invented by the Belgian man and wife artist duo Guy Rombouts and Monica Droste.
